Worth the Wait
delivers critical message to young adults through engaging story of two college friends

Leesburg, Fla., January 20, 2010—Any parent or student leader will tell you: young adults today face the most strident pressure and struggle most often in the area of sexual purity. The world bombards them with messages that pervert their understanding of their bodies, their self-worth, and the act of sex.

Sadly, while so many need to hear God’s truth for this area of their lives, many adults find this a difficult, or embarrassing, issue to discuss.

Cliff Lea, pastor of First Baptist Church Leesburg, Florida, addresses this vital subject with boldness and sensitivity in his novel, Worth the Wait. Lea weaves the truth of God’s Word into the engaging narrative of Ben and James, two college students walking through the freedoms, decisions, and sometimes pitfalls, of young adulthood. Their separate, yet connected, journeys illustrate the importance of wise choices, specifically as they relate to the area of sex.

While many people have heard what not to do in a dating relationship, Worth the Wait paints a compelling healthy, biblical picture of relationships, providing take-away lessons and advice that can be immediately applied in the real world.

In addition to Ben and James, Lea brings other characters into their lives that are just like the young adults from any college campus. Hailing from different backgrounds and experiences, they illustrate how people often use the act of sex in a way far different than God has intended.

Worth the Wait provides a timely message about the importance of honoring God in every area of our lives, including sexual purity.  The story teaches lessons that are challenging for young people, yet applicable and encouraging for people of all ages. Worth the Wait is a powerful story that accentuates the radical difference between God’s ways and the world’s ways in the area of relationships.  As a family pychologist  and teacher, I am pleased to see a book that touches on so many of today’s issues woven into the fabric of an interesting story.   I greatly recommend this book for youth, college students, single adults, as well as all parents.

Worth the Wait is an interesting and compelling story that communicates God’s principles of sexual purity.  The truths contained in this book are the same values I have challenged young adults with all over the world for the past 50  years.   I highly recommend this book for youth, college students, single  adults, as well as their parents.

Facts and figures have a place, but nothing touches the heart the way a story can. Cliff Lea has done just that with Worth the Wait. Ben and James, the central characters, spring to life and carry the reader on a fascinating journey into the collegiate world of relationships and sexuality. Without being preachy, this novel reveals the truth that choices have consequences – both positive and negative. Tens of thousands of True Love Waits teenagers are now entering the young adult world. Worth the Wait is just what they need to keep them on a journey toward purity.

At no other time in our history have youth been more under attack in the area of their sexuality.  “Worth the Wait” is timely for this generation.  It has the potential and the author to speak truth into this generation at this critical time.  I have known Cliff Lea for over 11 years.  There are few out there who can address this issue than Cliff.  This is one book that parents and youth should put on their “must read” list .
